Dana Hatchett- Extra Credit 3

Marginal differences are the motor of the series and difference has come to characterize the series, according to Baudrillard. The reaction of series played out between one object type. The idea of series has changed since then because the reaction between objects have changed that allow the possibility of new products. Seriality is now the logic of relation between products, and exists as this relation, not as the product themselves. An example of a something that I have purchased from a series is Mockingjay from the Hunger Games franchise.

Discrete series is a repetitive series. It is a static model. An example of a discrete series would be like Nike and its brand. Nike releases seasonal clothing similar to one another in that season. Long sleeve shirts are sold in the winter collection along with jackets and pants. Continuous series is the difference between each object in the sequence which is critical to each and individual to each series. An example would be a new car model for a specific car brand each year. For example, Volkswagen releases its new and improved Passat model every year (or any other car brand).
