ExtraCredit_ArtistTalk-CM

On Monday, September 14th 2015 my class of digital imaging attended an artist talk that took place in FAB. The artist name was Steve Rowell, who used photography as medium, and aiming his artwork towards political an governmental organizations. I was surprised that he got permission from the British government to shoot a photo of a military basecamp. Sometimes he was not be allowed to take pictures of government buildings, such as many in Washington D.C., for which he said that even if he was behind the bushes taking pictures, there would be a police officer (an undercover one) asking him to leave... Something that I thought was missing in Rowell's talk was the program(s) he used to enhance his pictures, like what digital methods he used to make the photos look in high quality, with good lighting, showing some details that you cannot notice when using, for example the phone camera... The artist was an old guy, so he probably only learned what he needed and that's it... Overall, it was interesting how he presented his artwork and his topic, and the way he talked about the history of those photographs.
